Independent work

Aim - improve knowledge on organizing customers' information by making inquiries.


Tasks:
1.     Visit the trade centre Alfa and find out:
What category does it belong to?
a)     It is a specialized trade park.
b)    It is a thematic trade centre.

In Riga and surroundings it is highly recognized, and consumers can find the necessary products due to its wide choice of goods and services as well as moderate prices.

2.     Answer the following questions:
2.1.         Is there communication with customers?



2.2.         Is information available for a customer?



2.3.         Do they do any organizing of information at Alfa?



2.4.         How accessible is the information centre in Alfa?



2.5.         How accessible is oral information? (visiting any shop, a shop assistant gives information where the information centre is located)



2.6.         Are they able to communicate with customers in foreign languages? (English, German, Russian or French)



2.7.         Availability of advertising means and use of advertising means (dimensional advertising, wordy advertising, textual advertising, acoustic advertising, graphical advertising, combined advertising)



3.     Make a comparison to your country’s acknowledged trade centre and publish the result in blog using answers to the above mentioned questions. When publishing, it is advisable to use pictures and statistical diagrams, up to 200 words in text.

The 2nd mobility started with 2 seminars conducted by teachers of RTT school Daiga Kondrate and Julija Sjomina. We discussed  different sales strategies and taught students to know and analyze the market. Students were given tasks to train them in active selling process afterwards analyzing it together.

For the aim of gaining more knowledge about marketing and selling strategies we were offered a lecture called PRACTICAL CLASS at the enterprise Draugiem.lv. which is a social networking website launched in 2004. It is currently the largest social networking website in Latvia with approx. 2.6 million registered users. The Website plays an important part in everyday life of internet users of Latvia and is frequently used as a tool of communication instead of e-mail.

Students continued working with developing marketing strategies regarding business plans which were presented by each group. Feedback was given by teachers and participating students.
Each working group had to manage with a practical task in the ALFA shopping centre in order to carry out selling strategies there and to make a report on their arrival in home countries.

Discovering RIGA

During the mobility week it was great to discover Riga.We had a sightseeing tour in old Riga guided by English teacher Ingrida and an excursion called ,,Style NOUVEAU in Everyday Riga life''. The map was worked out and the walk guided by the students of the working group of RTT school. Different kinds of museum visits were offered such as ART MUSEUM Riga Bourse, Mentzendorff's House etc.
